Well, I arrived in Vancouver yesterday.  I’ve been lazy though and haven’t uploaded any photos or told my exciting tale about crossing the border ( id check! student visa! currency exchange! ah! ).  Anyways, some photos are coming… later.  This is just a post to say that I’m lazy, but I plan on being less lazy soon-- for what that is worth.

Vancouver seems like a really nice place.  I’ve wandered around a bit and seen things that I want to see again.  So far I’ve managed not to get lost, though it is hard to get lost when your goal is to wander.

Somewhere nearby I saw a 6-floor musical instrument shop.  I really hope accordion is more popular in Canada than it is in the US, because I’ve always wanted to try one out.  I hope I can find that place again.

Today it was a rather laid-back drive through Washington.  Tomorrow morning it’s into Canada and hopefully to a Tim Hortons shortly thereafter.

…and here is travel day three-- Montana, Idaho, and Washington.

More stuff later, but I’m trying to type really quietly ( and thus slowly ) because people are sleeping.

Last night we stayed at an old, creepy motel that, among its other qualities, didn’t have the Internet.  So, the time that I would have used to post here was instead taken up by my attempts at murderer-proofing the motel room-- checking to make sure the door was still locked every 10 minutes, shielding my face whenever I entered a new room, and loudly talking about my karate prowess and lack of money.  Apparently it must have worked, because I woke up this morning not dead.  Now it’s at the end of day 3 and I have Internet access, so, first, here are some photos from day 2-- North Dakota and Montana.

Today my parents and I took off in a rather packed minivan for Vancouver.  It was a long, tiring day, but now we’re 2 states closer Canada or something.  I’m taking my parent’s word on this, because, to be honest, I really don’t have the vaguest idea of where we are.  I’ve heard mainly English, so I suspect that we are in the US, Canada, or Great Britain.  It might be foolish to rule out Australia, though.
So far I’ve done a bit of driving, some reading, and a bit of sleep today.  And now I plan to sleep some more.

Here are a few pictures from the day one of travel-- Wisconsin and Minnesota.  I added a few notes where appropriate.
