Here are some sketches from my life-drawing class the past couple days.
( *warning* some nudity and also some kinda blurry photos )

So far term 3 is going really well. Tomorrow is our first Digital Techniques class and also our first Color Theory class– I hope to wow with my extensive knowledge of bringing out the orange paint-tube anytime I see blue :)

I’ve collected some of my favorite quotations from Onym Ousan, the great American humorist and aught. Enjoy.

* Despite the high cost of living it remains a popular item. — Onym Ousan

* If it weren’t for the last minute, nothing would get done. — Onym Ousan

* The grass may be greener on the other side of the fence, but you still have to mow it. — Onym Ousan

* There’s nothing wrong with having nothing to say unless you insist on saying it. — Onym Ousan

* In every fat book there is a thin book trying to get out. — Onym Ousan

* Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away. — Onym Ousan

* Write a wise saying and your name will live forever. — Onym Ousan

* If we don’t succeed, we run the risk of failure. — Onym Ousan

* Is a river a river if it has no water? — Onym Ousan

After a fun couple weeks seeing family and friends in Wisconsin, yesterday I arrived back in Vancouver.  The plane flights went smoothly and the airline stewardesses kept me caffeinated enough with Sierra Mist to travel in an awake-ish state– reading Vonnegut’s “Slapstick” ( pretty good ), drawing and writing, and guessing how many times the lady across the aisle would have to repeat what she said to her hard-of-hearing husband, the annoyance in her voice elevating with each repetition.

Since getting back, I’ve decided ( <– maybe not the right word ) to play a game called “Adventures in leaving my apartment keys in Wisconsin.”  So far I’m doing pretty well.  At the moment I’m typing this in my apartment, which must serve as some sort of testament to something of a victory.  Thankfully my family found the keys and are mailing them here to my mailbox, which I’ll need my apartment keys to open ( j/k thankfully )

On Monday, term 3 of school starts.  I’m looking forward to it ( other than the part where I hand in my character design assignment, which I am currently taking a break from working frantically on ).  It’s somewhat daunting seeing the kind of animation projects we are going to get assigned.  I’m also a little scared of the acting class, in which, apparently, we will have to act.  I have a few faux-turtle-neck shirts, so wearing them, my acting range should be able to extend to introvert-turtle-receding-head-into-shell– an action that I tend to do almost subconsciously while wearing them already.  Anyways, overall, I’m really looking forward to term 3 here.

Back to character design!

Oh!  and one more thing– over break I gathered all the ideas ( comics, stories, whatever ) that I’ve come up with over the last few years and made a searchable database out of them.  I’m really proud of it, so maybe sometime soon I’ll write about it a little.

Anyways, hope you’ve been having a good 2009 so far!
